Home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling. We saw this quote hung up in a client’s home this week and we couldn’t agree more. We work with a variety of vendors and buyers who are either selling or looking for a place to call home. During the past year, we have spent more time at home than ever so we are asking you, what do you love most about your home?
Comfort
From a hot bath to being curled up on your sofa, comfort is what Mair loves most about her home.
“I love my new roll top bath and sitting in front of my roaring log burner” – Mair
No matter what the weather is doing outside, your home can offer you so many cosy moments. Nights in have become the new nights out meaning we are all spending more time relaxing at home whether it’s enjoying a film or book curled up on the sofa or a lie-in in your new cosy bedroom.
Functionality
Some people have had to adapt their house to allow them to work from home. Having a space to work is what Rich loves most about his home.
“I love the space I have created to be able to work and still walk away from my desk and shut the door at the end of the day” – Rich
Bedrooms, garages, reception rooms and even sheds have been adapted for a new function. Not only are these spaces now being used as a place to work, some homeowners have created games rooms, man caves and bars to adapt to our new way of living.
Location
Everyone knows that the three most important factors when buying a property are location, location and location. Moving back to the area that she grew up in is what Katie loves most about her home.
“I’ve recently moved back to Caerleon and I finally feel ‘home’, being close to my friends and family in a tight-knit community is what I love most about my new house” – Katie
As Dorothy once said, “there’s no place like home” and for many of us the area in which we live is what makes our house feel like home. At Hathways we are fortunate to cover such a beautiful area of South Wales with many stunning places to call home.
Memories
It might just be bricks and mortar but these walls hold so many memories, Barbara’s favourite thing about her home is that her children grew up there and each room hold hundreds of wonderful memories.
“Watching our favourite films on the sofa and eating meals together around the dining table, our home has so many memories of our children growing up.” – Barbara
Whether you’re reminiscing of your child taking their first steps along the hallway or imagining what memories will be made in a new home, we all have so much to love about our homes.
