Have you been dreaming about getting dressed up and eating out? Well, your wishes have come true! Take off your apron, forget about worrying what to cook, as your favourite local restaurants are reopening.
Aside from being released from your kitchen for the night, eating out is also a great way to support your local pubs, cafes and restaurants who have struggled over the past few months. They will be welcoming you back with open arms, at a safe distance of course!
The Government has also announced that it will be doing its part in helping cafés and restaurants with an ‘eat out to help out’ discount of 50% on meals and non-alcoholic drinks. The scheme will be available at participating restaurants from Monday to Wednesday throughout August, the saving will be limited to up to £10 per head on sit down meals for everyone including children.
Here are a few of our favourite places to eat whether you’re on a date, celebrating a missed birthday or just fancy a family meal out.
Villa Dino is a family-run Italian restaurant located in the heart of Maindee. Villa Dino offer traditional Italian cuisine in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Serving some of the best steaks in town, we can recommend the Filetto Del Chef, created by Fillipo Gianfanga in 1984 when the restaurant first opened. If you’ve been craving home-made pasta we suggest you try their Spaghetti Bolognaise or Penne Alla Crème.
The restaurant has recently undergone a makeover with the whole family getting involved with the painting and redecorating even the youngest member of the Gulotta family, Marco, has picked up a paintbrush!
Situated in the Roman village of Caerleon, The Priory was once a Cistercian Monastery fast forward 900 years and the stunning building is now a hotel and restaurant serving British food with Spanish influences. The beautifully kept grounds are the perfect setting for a well-earned evening of food and drinks.
From Sirloin to Seabass you’ll want to make your way through the menu, we often find ourselves choosing our order and picking what we’ll have next time too! If you’re looking to improve your culinary skills at home the delicatessen is open for you to buy some of your favourite store cupboard essentials and treats.
If you’re unable to go on holiday this year you can be transported to Spain in the Los Reyes Tapas and Wine Bar. Nestled on Belmont Hill the restaurant serves a wide selection of tapas that is washed down with traditional sangria.
Our advice is to go with a group or friends or family so that you can try it all! The menu includes popular dishes such as Patatas Bravas, Paella and Calamari, we would recommend our favourite choices but there are just too many. The music and décor add to the atmosphere leaving you feeling like you have just enjoyed a night out on the Andalusian coast.
We hope you enjoy a summer of life returning back to normal, if you’re planning on moving home soon our team are back in the office to answer your calls.
