Hathway’s Home Hacks

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years you will have heard of Mrs Hinch and her perfectly organised and sparklingly clean home! During one of our random office chats our team were discussing some home hacks that they do in their home so we thought we’d share them with you.

Move over Mrs Hinch, we’ve got Mrs Hathway!

Radiator Radiance

Winter is fast approaching so if you haven’t already you’ll soon be putting your heating on. To get your home smelling fresh take a clean sponge, pour a small amount of fabric softener onto your radiators then when the heating comes on your home is filled with the smell of clean washing.

Dusting Done

When sweeping your floor spray some water onto the dustpan then when you sweep up the dust is will stick to the sides rather than making more mess!

Clean as a baby’s bum

Did you know that you can use baby oil to clean chrome and stainless steel? Use just a few drops on a soft clean cloth will remove stains off your kitchen and bathroom appliances.

Windows that Wow

Next time you notice a smudge on the windows of your home or even your car, use white vinegar and a clean cloth to get them looking like new, a simple bottle of white vinegar is cheaper and better than most branded window or glass cleaners.

Disperse the Dust

To stop your vacuum and home from smelling of dust whilst vacuuming suck up a handful of cinnamon, it might be a little strange but we assure you it works!

Totally Teabags

Before you clean your wood flooring, place some used teabags in a bucket of water then soak a cloth in the water before wiping down the floorboards.

Lemon Fresh

How clean is your microwave? It always looks like a tough job but all you need is a lemon! Pour half a cup of water into a bowl, cut a lemon in half, squeeze its juice into the bowl along with the leftover lemon and heat in the microwave for 3 minutes.

Shower Spa

By placing a branch of fresh eucalyptus around your shower head the steam while showering will release the eucalyptus oil allowing you to breathe them in offering health benefits that include promoting relaxation and clearing nasal congestion.
