Have you recently moved home or perhaps you’re thinking of updating your current décor? Interior trends change year to year, so to give you some inspiration for your next room’s makeover we have found some of the biggest trends for 2022.

Biophilic Design

What is Biophilic you ask? This design trend focuses on the human connection between nature and the environment. Consider bringing elements from the outdoors into your home by populating areas with plants, this trend has both physical and mental wellbeing benefits as well as being aesthetically pleasing. Improve your mood and reduce stress levels by adding peace lilies, rubber plants and spider plants.

Black Accents

If you’ve been on any home décor pages on Instagram recently you will have seen some stunning interiors featuring black accents. Black window frames, trims, doors and cabinets create a sleek and modern look as well as match perfectly with many other colours making it an easy choice for any room.

Wallpaper

Continuing its popularity into 2022, wallpaper is an easy way to decorate your walls without permanently committing to anything. Grasscloth wallpaper is becomingly increasingly popular with designers seeing its biggest surge since its heyday in the 1960s and 1970s. This type of wallpaper is natural, eco-friendly and compliments almost any design style.

Bold Patterns & Colours

Bold patterns and colours are also reminiscent of the 60s and 70s, it’s a brave choice to include in your home but hey, it’s your home go for it! When selling a property we all know to stick to simpler décor but once you’ve made that move you can be as bold as you like!

Traditional

Think marble, real wood and roll arm sofas and you’re on your way to designing the perfect space with traditional features. Not every home can pull off this level of detail and history but when it’s done right your home will be the envy of every visitor who steps foot through the door.

Go Green

Green is a hot colour for 2022, we’re all craving a sense of calm which can be created by incorporating neutral, soft shades of green. After almost 2 years of being trapped indoors perhaps a touch of green can give us that change of scenery within our personal spaces. There are so many shades to choose from and the deeper shades work perfectly with black accents.

Mindful Spaces

We are all becoming more aware of our personal mental health and wellbeing, some of you may have taken up a new hobby or perhaps you’ve started to read or meditate, well why not incorporate this into your home's décor. Add your personality, interests, hobbies and pleasures into parts of your home, maybe even creating a whole room dedicated just to you.
